Most security systems lack proper design from the outset of their creation.
Security assessment and security design—this includes residential estates, high-risk estates, government buildings, schools, and hospitals in most parts of the world.
We recently conducted an independent security risk assessment for a hotel in Kimberley, identifying vulnerabilities often overlooked by standard assessments. Our independent approach allowed us to recommend practical measures to enhance the safety of guests, staff, and property.

How Risk Assessment Helps Design a Strong Security Plan
When designing a security plan or system, people often focus on obvious threats, like someone breaking into a house or a business. However, we often overlook risks we don’t immediately consider, such as maintenance, management, communication weaknesses, or even insider threats. As someone with knowledge of risk assessment, I can help identify and plan for these overlooked risks.
Risk assessment is like a tool that helps me see the full picture.
It’s the process of looking at every part of a situation—whether it’s a building, a company, or even a personal space—and identifying where problems might occur.
For example, imagine you’re planning security for a property. Most people think about things like locking doors, installing cameras, or hiring security guards. These are important, but what if the data line is too small? What would happen if we never implemented the communication system? What if someone on the property abused their security access?
Using my knowledge of risk assessment, I can think ahead and plan for these types of issues.
I’d make sure the security plan includes not just the obvious, like physical break-ins, but also things people might not consider right away. This way, the system is more complete and can keep everyone safer, even from risks that aren’t immediately visible.
In short, my knowledge of risk assessment helps me design a security plan that covers all the bases, especially the ones people tend to forget.
Nobody ever conducted the original research that would have produced an accurate security plan.
In the security design, we make space for security documents, policies, and procedures that are mostly never up to date.
Understand why we said that security risk assessment is the most crucial step in the security process; people often overlook it.
There is a common misconception that a security risk assessment and security are synonymous.
However, these two concepts are not synonymous; they are related but distinct. For this reason, we consistently maintain that the presence of security hardware, such as fences and access control, is crucial. In our security design, we comprehensively explain every aspect of security. We explain every single aspect of security.
A security risk assessment only becomes effective when conducted independently.
